artile title; Dress code deters Muslim medics
my summary
In surgical environments, Muslim women is asked to take the traditional head clothing off. The traditional head clothing is a "theatre hijaab". One woman argued that respect cultural values was discouraging women from entering the medical profession. Hijaab would be made from sterile material so it was completely no risk to the patient. Some doctor supported her proposal.
I think if there are no risk to the patient, the Muslim's traditional custom should be protected.
